About Our Temple

About us

Srila Prabhupada had instructed HH Jayapataka Swami Maharaj that there should be atleast ten temples in Kolkata. By His grace and mercy the seed of ISKCON DumDum was sown in 2013, when a well-wisher named Sri Sankar Lal Chakraborty gifted his property to ISKCON. This center started functioning since 24th January 2014 and was identified as an individual project since 2020.

Since then, the temple has undergone several stages of renovation. The congregation of temple is trying to maintain the temple.

ISKCON Dum Dum is located in a beautiful place named Motijheel, near Dum Dum (Kolkata) Airport, spreading the divine knowledge of Krishna Consciousness. It is located in a distance of 3.8 kms from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport (Kolkata) and 3.6 kms from DumDum Metro Station.

We conduct a variety of courses, seminars and workshops. In fact, there’s something for everyone – the kids, the youth, the families. We also invite you to join us for festivals and any of our tours. Together, let’s enhance the spiritual dimension of our lives!

The Development

ISKCON DUMDUM currently occupies a property that was generously donated by Sri Sankar Lal Chakraborty in 2013. The terms of the donation were stipulated in a will, specifying that the full possession of the residing building would only be granted to ISKCON upon the passing of Mr. Chakraborty and his spouse. ISKCON undertook the construction of a temple hall and made improvements to the property as per the conditions outlined in the will. In August 2023, ISKCON gained full possession of the property in compliance with the aforementioned conditions. ISKCON has been diligently enhancing the aesthetics of the area, with the aim of providing a serene and inviting environment for numerous devotees to engage in spiritual practices. ;
